Hot stamping dies for Aluminium alloys.

Tools for extrusion presses such as mandrel holders, backers.

Piercing tools for steel tube production

HEAT TREATMENT

HARDNESS
Carrs DF1 is normally delivered ready for use in the pre-hardedned condition (typically 370 HB) but can be supplier in the annealed condition when necessary.

ANNEALING
Raise temperature to 740-760°C, hold for 6-8 hours, then cool slowly in the furnace. Annealed hardness approx 250HB.

STRESS RELIEVING
Raise temperature to 630°C, hold for 1-2 hours and allow to cool slowly.

HARDENING
For forced ain quench, harden at 880-900°C. For oil quench or vacuum furnace, 850-900°C. Interrupt oil quench at 150°C.
