TQ1 is stocked in various thickness' as forged plate and is cut to customers
specifications.
THREE DIMENSIONAL FORGING
TQ1 can be three dimensionally forged in individual blocks to customers specifications.
This process confers additional beneficial properties on the material which should result
in further improvements in performance.
PRE-FORM FORGING
In many cases, TQ1 can be forged to near the net shape of the final tool. Not only does
this save machining time and material loss, but it also provides more consistent
properties and most,if not all of the improvement gained from three-dimensional forging.
The possibility of pre-form forging needs to be examined on a case by case basis.
